Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts to the Iranian Journal of Kidney Diseases (IJKD). All submissions are initially evaluated by the editorial team to determine their suitability with the journal’s aims and scope. Suitable manuscripts are then sent for double-blind peer review before a final decision is made.

Scope and Focus

The journal publishes high-quality manuscripts in the field of nephrology and related disciplines, including:

  • Kidney diseases and disorders
  • Dialysis and renal replacement therapy
  • Kidney transplantation
  • Hypertension and renal physiology
  • Clinical and experimental nephrology

We accept:

Manuscript Preparation

  • Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format
  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Title: 15 pt, Subtitles: 14 pt (Bold), Body: 12 pt
  • Maximum length: 15 pages
  • Text alignment: Justified, single column
  • Line spacing: Single spacing with clear paragraph separation

 Abstract and Keywords

  • Provide a structured abstract (max 250 words)
  • Include 3–5 keywords relevant to the study

  • Must be high-resolution (JPEG preferred)
  • Properly numbered and titled
  • Referenced within the text

References

  • Use a consistent citation style (APA / Vancouver recommended)
  • Ensure all references are accurate and complete

 Ethical Considerations

  • Research involving humans/animals must have ethical approval
  • All authors must consent to submission
  • Declare conflicts of interest and funding sources
  • Permission must be obtained for copyrighted material

 Editorial Decision

The editorial team may reject submissions at the initial stage if:

  • Poor quality or formatting
  • Ethical concerns

  • High-resolution images (JPEG/PNG) are provided where applicable.
  • Necessary permissions have been obtained for any copyrighted material used.
  • Ethical approval has been obtained for studies involving human or animal subjects.
  • Conflicts of interest and funding sources have been clearly disclosed.
  • A cover letter has been prepared explaining the significance of the research.
  • The manuscript fits within the aims and scope of the journal.
