Influence of Problem-Based Learning on Students’ Mathematics Anxiety and Performance
Keywords:
Problem Based Learning Learning Model, Mathematical Anxiety, Mathematics Learning OutcomesAbstract
This study aims to determine the differences between of Problem Based Learning with conventional model learning model on mathematical anxiety and mathematics learning outcomes of students VII grade SMP Negeri 3 Abiansemal in academic year 2019/2020. This type of research is classified as Quasi Experiment with Non Equivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design researh design. Population in this study were all students of class VII SMP Negeri 3 Abiansemal as many as 11 clasess with a total of 342 students. With random sampling technique obtained two classes as samples, namely class VII I with 32 students as experimental groups and class VII J with 31 students as a control group. The data obtained are quantitative data in the form of score of mathematical anxiety (using questioner) and mathematics learning outcomes of students (using essay test). Analysis using MANOVA with the help of SPSS 22.0 for Windows. Based on data analysis, can be concluded that there is an effect of problem based learning model toward mathematics anxiety and learning outcome either partially and simultanously.
