Intellectual Perspectives on the Second Congress of Soviet Writers in Aurora Magazine
Keywords:
Aurora Magazine, Volodia Teitelboim, Pablo Neruda, Second Congress of Soviet Writers.Abstract
The present article analyzes two representative intellectual voices of the editorial line of Aurora magazine (1954-1956): Volodia Teitelboim and Pablo Neruda. It is argued that within the framework of the cultural Cold War, the discourses of these intellectuals were constituted as ideological-aesthetic mechanisms of action, positioned against the discussions of the Second Congress of Soviet Writers (1954), regarding Soviet criticism, socialist realism and the responsibility of the writer.
